I am using this review as a way to provide feedback about this Julian Alps card to the tourist info center of Bohinj.

My experience was same as few other reviewers who already mentioned same issue, this card does not actually provide as many benefits as it claims to have. It is accepted by the staffs who work in the attractions in Bohinj area yes, such as waterfall, cable car, panoramic boat etc. But many other benefits mentioned in the brochure, the parties who suppose to provide the promotion often don't seem to know anything about this card. There is clearly a lack of communication between Bohinj tourist department and these promotion providers. For example, it claims that the card provides free public transportation in Bohinj municipalities, and from/to Ljubljana. Before I used it for bus ride, I even went to the tourist info center again to confirm that this card could indeed be used as bus ticket, and the staff confirmed that the bus drivers should know.

However, I used twice, both times the drivers don't seem to know anything about this card. I showed the info on the brochure, first bus driver managed to give me a free ride because 1st time I was just using it to go from Bohinjska jerezo to Ukanc, it was a short 3 stops ride. Then 2nd time I tried to take the bus from Ukanc to Ljubljana, the bus driver also didn't know about this card. Even though I showed him the brochure, he insisted that there is no free ride. At first he said no no it's with another bus company. Then I pointed to him the info on the brochure that the offers is with arriva bus company, and the bus was arriva bus. Then he pointed to the 2nd paragraph that started with "discount applies..." which is a confusing part, 1st paragraph says it's free, 2nd paragraph starts with "discount...". So I asked, OK if it's not free ride but just a discount, what is the discount? The bus driver couldn't answer. After trying and talking about this for like 5 minutes, I gave up and ended up paying full fare. The bus comes every one hour, I couldn't afford to wait another hour for the next bus, and hoped that next driver would know better about this card.

Since there were already other reviewers mentioned same issue before, and there were staffs from the info center replied to this issue, I would expect that this issue would already be discussed and solved. Clearly it is not. It's a bit disappointing. I understand that perhaps the info center is just a selling point of this card. Although, elevating the feedbacks from visitors upward to the correct departments for future improvement should be doable.

For whoever plans to visit here, you can evaluate if it's truly worthy it to get this Julian Alps card. This card does not give as many benefits as it claims. Some of the attractions, such as the church next to the lake, is not even opened most of the time in year, it's opened seasonally during the summer peak tourist time only

I wonder if there is parking, postcards and souvenir stempels?
