We went to Stara Gostilna during our stay in Piran and had the 8 course tasting menu for dinner. We really enjoyed it. The dinner started with a brilliant Amuse-Bouche which contained five, I think, little gems. We especially loved the langustine, the onion bread and the beef tartar. The actual 8 course menu was really delicious. 6 out of the 8 courses were simply amazing, only the first fish dish with the fennel was a bit shy (but very good, it could have used a kick like some acidity or bitter component). The terrine was not our personal taste (but nothing to complain here). All the other dishes were stunning, including the presentation. We also appreciated that an alternative to the lamb has been offered (more delicious fish). Our highlight was the (Main) fish course with the cauliflower. The menu ended with an amazing desert: chocolate brownie. Since we weren't up that night for the full wine pairing, our host suggested to go with 4 wines instead of the full 8. And I must say, every single one of them (all white) were great and harmonised beautifully with the food. We really enjoyed our evening here. Thanks!
